When Punjab takes to the cricket field, it is more than just a game. It is a celebration of talent, identity, ambition and the unmistakable spirit of the state. This year, that spirit takes a new shape as the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League returns with a franchise based format and Mohali has its own team to rally behind. The Mohali Kings, backed by JLPL. 

Cricket has always occupied a special place in Punjab’s cultural landscape. From producing some of India’s most celebrated cricketers to nurturing young talent across its cities, towns and villages, Punjab has a deep and enduring relationship with the sport. The Sher-e-Punjab T20 league seeks to take that legacy into a new era. 

Organised under the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) the 2026 league brings together six city based franchises representing Mohali, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Bathinda and Fazilka. The tournament is scheduled to commence on the 30th of August 2026, creating a new stage for Punjab’s cricketing talent to compete, grow and be seen. At the heart of this new chapter in Punjab’s cricket stands the Mohali Kings. 

Mohali Gets its Kings
For JLPL, Mohali is not simply a location. It is a city with which the organisation shares a long standing connection and a vision for creating places, opportunities and experiences that contribute to the region’s growth. For JLPL, Mohali is home. 

The association with the Mohali Kings brings that connection into the sporting arena. It is an opportunity to bring the energy of the city to the stands, the streets and ultimately to every conversation around Punjab’s cricket. 

Mohali Kings will be led by Ramandeep Singh, the all rounder who brings both experience and versatility to a squad built around a combination of established Punjab talent and emerging players. 

JLPL’s association with Mohali Kings is a natural extension of its connection with the city. As an organisation that has shaped Mohali’s urban landscape and has contributed to its development, JLPL’s franchise brings together 2 powerful ideas, building communities and building aspirations. 

The Sher-e-Punjab T20 League
One of the most compelling aspects of the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League is its compelling platform for players from Punjab. The league’s franchise model introduces a player auction, allowing teams to construct their squads from the state’s cricketing talent. Mohali Kings emerged from the auction with a squad featuring a strong blend of experience and youth. 

Alongside icon player Ramandeep Singh are notable names including Anmolpreet Singh and Harpreet Brar. 

Mohali Kings is a squad that reflects what the league is intended to achieve, giving Punjab’s cricketers a competitive environment in which established performers and emerging names can share the same dressing room and the same ambition. 

Six Cities. One Punjab.
The Sher-e-Punjab T20 League brings together six franchises. Each franchise has an iconic Punjab Cricketer at its center. Shubman Gill for Fazilka, Abhishek Sharma for Amritsar, Gurnoor Brar for Bathinda, Prabhsimran Singh for Jalandhar, Arshdeep Singh for Ludhiana and Ramandeep Singh for Mohali. 

Together these franchises represent different parts of the state but the idea behind the league is singular: Punjab’s cricketing talent deserves a stage of its own. 

The Countdown Begins 

With the player auction complete and squads assembled, anticipation is building ahead of the league’s opening on the 30th of August. For JLPL, it marks the beginning of an exciting new association with Punjab’s sporting landscape.
