The event “Presentation of Skill Development Certificates and Distribution of Singer Sewing Machines”was organized in collaboration with the Lions Club Panchkula Premier, District 321-A2 and graced by esteemed dignitaries including the Directors of JLPL and the honorable Chief Guest Lion Chaman Lal Gupta, PDG (Lions Past District Governor). The event saw the distribution of 10 Singer Sewing Machines to underprivileged girls and women.

JLPL started this initiative with a vision to empower the women and help them become independent. The key highlight of the event was the recognition of the 14 girls who graduated in the inaugural batch of the training center. Each girl received a skill development certificate, signifying not just their proficiency but also their growth and potential to lead independent lives. These certificates, awarded after passing a six-month diploma course as a sewing machine operator, hold value beyond mere credentials; they represent the knowledge and skill gained. The girls successfully completed the Sewing Machine Operator Level 4 Course under the NSQF framework at the JLPL skill development centre.

Every six months new batches of students will undergo training and receive course completion certificates, enabling them to take confident steps towards personal growth.

The Honourable Director of JLPL said the initiative is a testament to JLPL’s commitment towards creating meaningful opportunities for underprivileged communities. Gifts were also presented to the girls and the principal of the training center Mrs Durga Thakur as a token of gratitude for their dedication and efforts.
