In a remarkable step towards empowering communities and fostering self-reliance, JLPL has inaugurated its second sewing skill center in the village of Kumbra, Mohali district. Building on the success of its first sewing skill center in Mataur, this initiative aims to provide women and girls in Kumbra with an opportunity to gain essential sewing and embroidery skills, enabling them to earn a livelihood and become independent. 

Empowering Through Skill Development 

The sewing skill center is more than just a facility. It is a platform to inspire creativity, nurture talent and empower individuals. JLPL recognizes the importance of providing tools and training that can open doors to a better life. The center features high quality sewing machines from the renowned brand Singer, ensuring that learners have access to the best resources to hone their craft. 

Through this initiative, JLPL is not only helping women and girls develop skills in sewing and embroidery but also reigniting an appreciation for these age-old arts. The program encourages participants to use their creativity and their skills for productive endeavor’s, setting the stage for self reliance within the community. 

A Special Inauguration 

The sewing skill center was officially inaugurated on the 25th January, coinciding with the celebration of Republic Day. The event was marked by a vibrant sense of community and purpose as JLPL brought the residents of Kumbra together to celebrate this milestone. 

As part of the inauguration ceremony, JLPL extended its support to differently abled individuals in the village by presenting tricycles to two residents. The gesture highlights our commitment towards uplifting communities.

Over the past few years, JLPL has undertaken several initiatives to improve the quality of life in Kumbra. From ensuring proper electricity and developing roads to now introducing a second sewing skill center, JLPL has demonstrated its dedication to the village’s progress.
